This 40-hectare estate comprises 12 hectares of vines and also produces a large range of organic vegetables and preserves. Luigi’s father, Raffaele, is a native of Lavello in the province of Potenza (in the hilly region of Basilicata), as is his wife, Antonia (Luigi’s mother). Raffaele lived in Lavello up until 1985 and was farming some land and selling his produce (grapes and cereals) at the local cooperative. It was then that he decided to change direction in life, in order to really live according to the rhythms of nature and to form a strong bond with the land. He moved from Lavello to go to the town of Cerignola, where Antonia was already living. Luigi was born in 1981, in 1993 Raffaele bought a farm in Cerignola. Together with its farm building the farmhouse was a complete ruin; Raffaele, Antonia and Luigi have gradually transformed it into a practical, working winery, cellar and vegetable processing plant, as well as the centrepiece and hub for the farm’s operations.
